Kanengo Police Recover K42.2M Stolen Soya Beans One arrested.

Police in Kanengo have recovered 210 bags of stolen soya beans valued at K42.2 million and disrupted a syndicate suspected of stealing commercial agricultural produce in Lilongwe.

The consignment, which belonged to Capital Oil Company, was recovered from a hideout within the Kanengo area following a swift, intelligence-led operation. One suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the heist.

According to Kanengo Police Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector MacFarlane Mseteka, law enforcement acted on a crucial tip-off from members of the public, leading them directly to where the stolen commodity had been concealed

“We managed to recover the entire consignment after receiving credible information regarding where the bags were being hidden,” Mseteka confirmed. “Our officers acted swiftly to secure the property

Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway for remaining members of the syndicate. Police believe the suspect did not act alone and have launched a comprehensive investigation to track down the accomplices.
